New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve
John was at work and the kids had some friends spend the night. We had a little New Years eve party with music and the boys playing foot ball in the backyard. At midnight, we went outside and lit some sparklers and the kids popped poppers and the confetti poppers. Once we made a big mess in the street we went back in the backyard and lit some fountains. We had a good time. But, Hayden fell asleep at 11:00 pm and missed out on the fun. We saved some poppers for him to do the next morning. Happy New Year everyone!!

JJ and his buddy Jayden and hayden's buddy Zach. Zach celebrated with JJ and his buddy since Hayden fell asleep on him before midnight!

Christmas 2008

Christmas 2008
We had a great Christmas!! Hope you all did too! The kids hit a homerun this year and scored a lot of cool gifts from Santa and of course mom and dad! They got a Wii with lots of games including rock band, which has been such a blast! They also got clothes, Hayden loves legos and he got a few sets of them. They ended up with PSP games and movies, DVD's, board games, slippers, bath robes, shirts, baseball stuff, hoodies and some more things. Most of all we remembered the birth of Christ and the true meaning of Christmas! What a wonderful year to look back on! We have had a memorable year and we have truly been blessed! Merry Christmas to all of you and Happy New Year!!

We go to John's parents each year for Christmas. They pick a kid to help with the presents each year. It got kindof crazy, all the kids wanted to help including Hayden and JJ.

Christmas at the Gaylord Texan

Christmas at the Gaylord Texan
We took the boys to the Gaylord Texan today to see the lights, the reindeer, Mrs. Claus and Santa. We had a fun time walking around, taking pictures and seeing all the festivities. The kids enjoyed the Ice display as well as the life size gingerbread house, yes a real gingerbread house. Here are the pics from the fun time we had today.

The boys and I at one of the old houses they had all made up with the holiday wreath and lights. It looks prettier at night when all the lights are lit up.

Gingerbread House

Gingerbread House
This was so neat. This is made out of real ingredients. I took a picture of the ingredients and it uses a ton of sugar, ginger and a lot of other things.

Hayden posing on one of the candy canes ouside the gingerbread house. This one was not real.

Thanksgiving 2008

Thanksgiving 2008
Well we went to Sharon's for Thanksgiving this year and we had a great time. We always have Thanksgiving at her home and boy her hubby, Jeff can cook! We had smoked turkey with all the trimmings, the carrots were to die for! I had to get the recipe on that! I know, you are probably thinking, carrots? Yea, carrots they were good! I made an apple pie and kindof cheated a little on the cherry crisp, I bought a Marie Callendars pie and baked it. I did good on the apple though. It turned out good, if I say so myself! I wanted to get a family pic out in Sharon's backyard so this is it. Here are a few more pics from the fun day we had.

JJ, Hayden and Nicole were out playing on the bridge and in the leaves. I got them to pose for a quick picture. Then they went back to business.

Christmas!!! Got your lights up??

I don't know about you guys, but John and I put up our Christmas lights up outside yesterday and they are looking festive! It is bright. We decided to try something different this year. We outlined our yard with lights and then put colored light in the bushes. We also put the mathing lights on the house. Man, when all the lights are on it is bright! We got them all going and set on timers so we don't have to go and mess with plugging and unplugging them. I bought a new Christmas tree during black Friday and got a good deal on one. It is a little short but it looks good by the fireplace. I bought a few more nutcrackers to add to my collection as well as a Santa Clause. I love to collect both of them and I try to pick one or 2 up each year. Hard to believe this time of year is here already! Tis the Season!

Outlaws baseball tournament

Outlaws baseball tournament
JJ played in a tournament with his new baseball team, the Outlaws, this weekend. They went to the final four and stuck it out until the last inning. The other team got us by 3 runs and went on to play in the championship game. The boys played some great baseball. JJ had a great time and he came in and hit, pitched and had some awesome plays! Here are some pics from the tournament.

I never am in the pictures, I am always the one taking them. I got Hayden to take a picture with JJ after his game.

JJ on the mound pitching last night. We won the game 5-3!

JJ turns 10!!

JJ turns 10!!
Wow, can't believe that JJ is now 10! We had a family party for him on the 21st and then we had a friend party last night! We went to Pump it Up, JJ's favorite place, for his party. We had a baseball cake and he had a good time with his buddies jumping in the bounce houses, boxing in the ring and going down the slides. Hope you had a great time JJ!!

JJ getting ready to go in the boxing ring to take on his buddies. He came up with the win a few times! He beat John in jousting, and then he told me he let him win! It's his birthday and all!

Our nephew, Logan, he was not sure about the bounce houses at first, but once he got bouncing, he liked it. He enjoyed playing the the toy car more, I think. The loud music he was not so sure about.

JJ got a new pair of basketball shoes as one of his gifts. He is looking forward to playing basketball this upcoming season. John is coaching him and they are going to be Team Flight this year!

UH vs SMU Football Game

UH vs SMU Football Game
John wanted to take us to the UH, SMU game. It was so much fun. One of John's friend's from work went with us and ended up getting us some free tickets! Drop a few names and it gets you in! They ended up winning in the last few seconds by a TD. We had a good time eating popcorn, cheering for the Cougars, of course! Was a perfect night, not too chilly, just right!

JJ was the little cheerleader of the bunch. He had the Houston signs going and cheering for the Cougars! He had people in the stands cheering with him. He and Hayden liked the mascot and they went down to give him a high five.

John and JJ excited cause the Cougs were up!

Hayden had the sign down too!

Cougs win!!

Cougs win!!
It was a nailbiter until the end, were they going to do it? And they threw a bomb up and they caught it in the endzone for the final TD of the game. Cougars win 44-38!

My mom and I on the hay bales. It was fun to have her here and to go with us today. I don't get to see her much and it will be fun spending the week with her this week. She leaves to fly back home on Friday so we have a few days to go and do some fun things and to spend some time to catch up.

Hayden's First Tackle Football Game

Hayden's First Tackle Football Game
Hayden played QB and did a great job! We held the other team until the last 45 seconds and then they scored once again. The team that they played were so big! They looked like they were 12! But we took em on and it was not a blow out like we thought it would be. They played really good.

Race for the Cure!!

Race for the Cure!!
One of my good friends, and the one who always takes care of me when I have to have surgery, cause I am always tearing up something as I think I am still a young pup and have to still play sports, but she is a breast cancer survivor. We walked the 3 mile for her this year. She was in a terrible motorcycle accident and fractured her pelvis in multiple places as well as had a terrible injury to the foot and blowing her ACL and MCL in her knee. She was out of the hospital and still not able to walk so we pushed her in her wheelchair in the race. There were 150 of us from the hospital who walked or ran the race.

JJ, Hayden and Andrew chillin' in the pool.

Hayden doing his "bootie buster"!

John, JJ, Hayden, Will and Nicole cheesing it for the camera! Everyone seemed to have a great time. Thanks Nanny and Papa for a fun afternoon and for the great food!

Utah vs TCU baseball game

Utah vs TCU baseball game
Took the kids to see Utah play TCU. They had fun watching and cheering on the Utes! Their pitcher was JJ also, so JJ thought that was cool! They were up 3-2 in the bottom of the 6th when we had to leave.

The kids had fun going down the hill on cardboard boxes in the Frog Zone.

Hayden was having so much fun on the box that JJ decided to give it a try. He had a good time to.
